The Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) is the public body responsible for environmental protection in Scotland . It was established under the Environment Act 1995 and became fully operational from 1 April 1996.

SEPA's main aim is: "to provide an efficient and integrated environmental protection system for Scotland which will both improve the environment and contribute to the Government's goal of sustainable development".

The selection process involved a business-based Working Group defining our requirements and then scoring several applications against the requirements specification. The Laserfiche™ solution came out on top. A corporate deal was signed in April 1999 and Alfred McAlpine currently have 1000 users across current project and permanent offices'.
